Project Overview

This project involved transforming a brand-new 7' x 14' enclosed trailer into a durable, professional mobile workspace using a Coyote decorative flake flooring system.

Designed to serve as the primary service trailer for Premier Coatings, the goal was to create a clean, durable, and easy-to-maintain floor capable of handling daily use, equipment transportation, and jobsite operations while maintaining a professional appearance.’

Existing Conditions

Unlike traditional concrete coating projects, this installation was completed over a wood trailer floor.

The trailer was purchased new in 2026 and was in excellent condition with no significant surface damage or structural imperfections. However, proper preparation was still essential to create a smooth and uniform foundation for the coating system.

Fastener locations, seams, and minor floor transitions were addressed using a crack repair and patching material to help create a more seamless and level surface prior to coating installation.

Installation Process

Surface Preparation

Because the substrate consisted of wood rather than concrete, preparation methods differed from a traditional garage floor installation.

The surface was cleaned, prepared, and evaluated to ensure compatibility with the coating system and long-term performance requirements.

Seam & Fastener Treatment

Screw heads, seams, and floor transitions were filled using a crack repair material to create a smoother and more uniform substrate before coating application.

Base Coat Application

A white base coat was installed to create a bright and consistent foundation for the decorative flake system.

Flake Broadcast

Coyote decorative flakes were fully broadcast into the coating system to create texture, visual appeal, and increased durability.

Protective Finish

A clear protective topcoat was applied to lock in the flake system and provide additional wear resistance.
